Ingredients
- Amrit Foods Superfine Special Atta - 1⁄2 cup
- Almond - 1 cup
- Pistachios - 1⁄4 cup
- Rose petals - 2 tsp
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Ghee - 1⁄4 cup
- Rose water - 2 tsp
- Cloves - 4
- Water - 1⁄4 cup
- Milk - 1⁄2 cup
- Saffron - a pinch
Instructions
- Add boiling water to a cup of almonds and let it rest for approximately 20 minutes. Now peel off the skin of the almonds.
- Coarsely grind the almonds and keep aside.
- In a small bowl, add some milk to saffron and let it rest.
- In a non-stick pan, dry roast the atta for approximately 7-8 minutes until it turns slightly brown.
- Take the roasted atta out and add ghee to the pan. Once the ghee is hot, add cloves and let them splutter.
- Add ground almonds to this and roast them for a few minutes.
- Add the roasted atta and 1⁄2 cup sugar and mix everything well.
- Add saffron milk and mix. Keep stirring.
- Once the milk is completely absorbed, add water and cook further until the water is completely absorbed.
- Add the remaining 1⁄2 cup sugar and keep stirring until the ghee starts to separate from the halwa.
- Now add rose water, rose petals and mix well.
- Let the halwa cool a little and serve it topped with chopped pistachios and rose petals.
